art for the tender work of being human
Welcome
I’m so glad you’re here.
I graciously invite you to step into my studio and the stories I create in my work.
As a painter and an educator, the healing power of creativity and the magic of making art is woven into all I do. The nature of my life as a mother to two neurodivergent kids has pushed me to reimagine my creative practice into something that fluidly ebbs and flows around all of it. I follow whatever creative path feels most exciting and accessible.
This means I jump between large narrative oil paintings to small works on paper, and everywhere in between…including portraits of animals in cozy sweaters and silly t-shirts…All of it is made with joy and intention from the very center of my heart.
It’s truly an honor to share it with you.
The Work
I create large scale oil paintings and smaller scale experimental works on paper…as well as whatever else might peak my interest. Working in collections allows my creative practice to flow as it would like and with the various seasons of motherhood without being limited to one process or medium.
The studio
My studio is housed at Heartwork Studios in downtown Ripon, WI which I co-operate with my dear friend and fellow artist-mom, Carissa Sorensen. The studio was born when we discovered our shared dream to open a space that could not only nurture and support our individual creative practices as artists but could also become a shared community space centered on the sacredness of creativity and the connection brought about by co-creation in a warm and welcoming environment. We offer weekly open studio sessions as well as a series of monthly workshops.
Coming soon: Online courses, a membership site, and private art gatherings in our cozy space. Sign up for updates.

Where the Wild Waits
It is not just a physical landscape, but an internal space free of pretense and polish. To walk into “the wild” is to embrace the unknown and trust that something essential lives there, waiting to be found...or remembered.
In these experimental works in ink, watercolor, and acrylic on paper, what I refer to as “the wild” is synonymous with “the truth.”
“To be whole. To be complete. Wildness reminds us what it means to be human, what we are connected to rather than what we are separate from.

Radical Joy
I created this series to celebrate joy and absurdity but also as a resistance offering.
Our ability to experience joy is deeply rooted in our humanity. As many forces in our world today are at work to systematically disconnect us from our humanity, seeking joy is not just fun, it’s a necessity.
I hope this collection inspires you to join me in joyful resistance.
“It’s not frivolous to feel good.
It’s not indulgent to cultivate joy.
It is survival.
